Why Cachely

Faster builds without another service to operate

Cachely focuses on the remote cache layer: native protocols, managed storage, useful insights, and clear access controls.

Skip repeated work

CI runners and developer laptops share one warm cache, so unchanged tasks finish from cache instead of rebuilding.

See the impact

Track remote hit rate, expensive tasks, and estimated compute savings. Compare CI runs to verify the difference.

Keep costs predictable

Start on Free. Paid plans include storage and cache operation limits, with no per-seat fees or overage invoices.

Connect the build tools you already use

Use native remote caching with managed storage. Pick your setup guide for configuration, version requirements, and a first remote-hit check.

Using Lerna? Follow the Lerna setup guide. It shares the Nx cache protocol.

How it works

A shared build cache in three steps

No agents, storage credentials, or cache servers to provision.

  1. 01

    Create a workspace

Sign in, create a workspace, and issue a token with the access your build needs.

  2. 02

    Connect your build tool

Add the cache URL and token to your local config and CI secrets.

  3. 03

    Reuse every cache hit

A build uploads once. Matching tasks restore the same artifact on every runner and laptop.

Illustrative Nx setup: create a workspace, set two environment variables, then verify a remote cache hit with matching task inputs.

Set up Nx remote cache with Cachely in 15 seconds

Create a Cachely workspace and secure token, add the Nx remote cache environment variables, then see the first cache hit.

  1. Start by creating your Cachely account.
  2. Set up your workspace to get your secure token.
  3. Add it to your environment variables.
  4. Your first request connects to the source.
  5. The next is a blazing cache hit.
One cold build seeds the cache. Every other machine - CI or laptop - replays the same artifacts instead of rebuilding.

Security

A clear trust boundary for build artifacts

A remote cache belongs inside your CI security model. Cachely makes access explicit without giving builds direct bucket access.

Configured artifacts, not repository access

Your cache client sends the outputs you configure. Cachely does not clone your repository. Review those outputs for source-derived files and secrets.

Workspace-scoped access

Tokens are hashed, scoped to one workspace, and independently revocable. Build jobs never receive direct storage credentials.

Safer pull request caching

Read-only tokens let untrusted builds fetch known artifacts without uploading poisoned results.

FAQ

Remote build cache questions

Is Cachely an Nx Cloud alternative?
Cachely is a fit when you need a managed remote cache with build insights and flat subscription pricing. It supports Nx, Lerna, Turborepo, Gradle, and Bazel. Nx Cloud also provides broader workflow features such as distributed task execution and cloud runners; Cachely focuses on the cache backend.
Does using Cachely expose me to the Nx cache-poisoning attack (CVE-2025-36852)?
No, when you scope tokens correctly. Issue read-only tokens to pull-request and fork builds so they can read the cache but never write to it - Cachely enforces that at the API, so untrusted builds cannot seed a poisoned artifact.
Does Cachely store my source code?
Cachely does not connect to or clone your repository. Your configured cache client sends task outputs and content hashes. Those outputs can include source-derived files if your build configuration declares them as cache outputs, so review that configuration before uploading.
Where does Cachely store my artifacts?
Today, on fully managed Cloudflare R2 - zero setup, included in the subscription.
Does it work locally and in CI?
Both. The same token mechanism works on a developer laptop and in CI, so a cache filled by one is reused by the other.
How do I invalidate or purge the cache?
Build tools derive cache keys from task inputs. Correctly declared inputs and deterministic outputs are necessary for valid reuse; an omitted input can cause stale results. Revoke a token to cut off its access. Managed cache objects expire after their retention window.
What if a cached artifact is missing or corrupted?
A missing artifact returns a cache miss so the client can run the task locally. Corruption, network errors, retries, and timeouts depend on your build tool and configuration. Verify client fallback behavior in your pipeline and consult the troubleshooting docs.
Does Cachely work with Gradle?
Yes. Cachely implements the Gradle HTTP Build Cache protocol. Point buildCache.remote at the Cachely cache host with your workspace token as the HTTP Basic password (the username is ignored), enable org.gradle.caching, and Gradle task outputs are shared across machines and CI just like Nx and Turborepo artifacts.
Does Cachely work with Bazel?
Yes. Cachely implements the Bazel HTTP remote cache protocol (action cache and CAS). Set --remote_cache to the Cachely cache host and pass your workspace token with --remote_header="Authorization=Bearer <token>" in .bazelrc, and Bazel action results are shared across machines and CI just like Nx, Turborepo, and Gradle artifacts.
Does Cachely work with Lerna?
Yes. Modern Lerna uses Nx for task scheduling and caching. Enable caching for the tasks in nx.json, set the two self-hosted remote cache variables covered in the Nx remote cache guide, and lerna run uses Cachely through the existing Nx remote cache protocol.
How is pricing calculated?
A flat subscription with included storage and monthly cache operation limits. There are no per-seat or per-workspace fees and no overage invoices. Each plan has workspace and token limits; compare the included allowances on the pricing page.
How is ROI calculated?
Cachely sums known artifact task durations for remote cache hits to estimate avoided compute. It does not subtract download time or account for parallel tasks. Cost estimates depend on your rate assumptions. Measure elapsed pipeline time and actual billing separately; the benchmark guide explains how.
Is self-hosting available?
Today artifacts live on managed Cloudflare R2. For teams that need a fully dedicated deployment, reach out at hello@cachely.dev and we will talk through it.
